NY Selecting a Truck | New York Toyota Dealer

The end of the year is a great time to buy a Toyota pickup truck. What kind of pickup truck will you get? Deciding on a new truck can be a difficult decision, but Toyota has two excellent options to choose from: the Toyota Tacoma, and the Toyota Tundra.

One of the first things to determine is how you will use the truck. If you are looking for a work truck that can pull heavy loads, has a lot of room in the truck bed, and also has room to store things inside the cab, an extended cab truck might be what you need. Both the Tundra and Tacoma offer extended-cab options that can pull heavy loads. If you know how much weight you will be pulling, you’ll want to compare that to what both trucks can handle, depending on the trim level. An extended cab is also a good option if you expect to have more than one additional passenger in your truck. If the truck will get most of its use by driving around and not carrying a lot of cargo, a regular cab could work fine for your purposes.

Gas mileage is an important thing to consider when you buy a pickup truck. If you are concerned about gas mileage, check out the Toyota Tacoma. Depending on the type of Tacoma, you could get between 17-19 mpg city and 20-24 mpg highway, while the Tundra will get closer to 13 mpg city/17 mpg highway.

Lastly, there are a few differences in the body styles of the Tundra and Tacoma, so you’ll want to look at both and them and determine which you prefer.
