This ranking is done from a list of 9 characteristics, some of which are:

  • Investment value.
  • Management and product quality.
  • Ability to attract talent.
  • Social responsibility.
  • Global competitiveness.
  • …and more

Selection Criteria

Fortune partners with the global management consulting company, Korn Ferry, to ask executives and directors and securities analysts to not just rate companies in their industries on the aforementioned list of characteristics but also to choose the 10 companies they express admiration for over the others. The choices, however, are not made from the list of criteria but from the top 25% companies ranking from the previous year and the top 20% in their industry.

Korn Ferry uses this and more, in partnership with Fortune, to draw a conclusion on which company sits on the list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies”.
